It has been months since I’ve had a workout like last night. Sure, I’ve been able to work up a sweat just as intense… but that workout? That was the kind of workout I missed having! I don’t know whether or not it’s the endorphins or the worn out body that lets me feel as if I’ve accomplished something but today I feel pretty good.

Granted, I’m still exhausted. My back is a little stiff this morning but I’m not feeling anything that would be considered incapacitating. Want to recap what I did with me? Of course you do! Let’s go!

Jerkface came and picked me up and before hitting up the gym, we decided on some food. After letting that settle we went to the gym and I immediately got into the cardio. I did a full 30 minutes on the elliptical (burning a little more than 400 calories) before hitting up some of the other machines.

When I first started going to the gym, I did GoodLife’s “Quick Fit” section almost religiously. Instead of doing it all on one day, I would split it by doing upper body stuff one day and lower body the next. I figured that I may as well pick up where I left off on Monday by doing the upper body stuff. It involved doing a couple of sets of chest presses, seated rows, lateral raises, lat pulldowns, pec flies, and even some tricep stuff! The only thing I didn’t end up doing were bicep curls or more knee lifts. I feel a little down on that, but meh!

Jerkface ended up disappearing to do the yoga class they were putting on and I just cranked the ipod and did what I had to do. While there, I did run in to my uncle which was a nice surprise. We talked about some stuff which ended up distracting me and putting me off of my timeline. I wanted to finish off my second round of cardio and hit up the hot tub roughly the same time as Jerkface so she wouldn’t have been waiting a long time.

In the end, I sacrificed the bicep curls and knee lifts and decided to go ahead and do a complete half hour of cardio (another 400+ calories) whether or not it was going to make me late. It did, for the record.

Regardless! A full hour of cardio, nearly all of the upper body stuff done… the only way to reward myself was by chilling out in the hot tub. For some reason the hot water in the club wasn’t working too well so the pre-shower was nothing more than flicking ice cold water at me as best as I could without developing hypothermia. The hot tub was awesome and I think my muscles were thanking me. I’m not dying today, right?

Not only was I incredibly tired and worn out from an intense workout, but I was STARVING. I found it odd considering I had eaten just before working out. Ah well. Just means I should eat something, no? Perhaps I’ll do that now!

All in all, a fantastic workout and I’m scheduled to hit the gym tonight. My plan is to do another hour of solid cardio. I’m excited by this as it looks like I COULD be hitting my stride again.

Here’s hoping my finances hold up so I can keep going without interruption!
